Cocaine smuggled into Spain shaped as Manolo Blahnik designer shoes

A DRUG-TRAFFICKING network which smuggled cocaine from Colombia moulded into the shape of Manolo Blahnik designer shoes was busted in Vizcaya, northern Spain.

Six people were arrested and four kilos of cocaine, which would have had a street value of €500,000, were seized in the operation against the gang which had been operating in the area for two years.

The investigation began when police found a Colombian couple were selling cocaine from their home. The man was the head of the organization and contacted the providers, while his wife found passengers travelling to Colombia who would bring back the drugs in exchange for money.

The cocaine was brought to Spain on flights between Cali in Colombia and Barcelona, hidden in boxes of designer shoes as well as inside video game consoles.
