CALLING all readers and residents…. please spare an hour (or two, even three) to clean up the rubbish, the litter, the trash around your neighbourhood!
Let’s have a big clear up over the weekend of November 12-13…. make yourself known, perhaps by wearing one of those luminous bright jackets which you normally keep in the boot of your car… or failing that perhaps don a white top of some description, even a T-shirt or football kit.
Nobody wants to live or visit an area that is strewn with bottles, beer cans, paper, cardboard, plastic cartons and various other things which should effectively be placed in a refuge bin.
My wife and I – with a handful of friends – will be concentrating on the area stretching from Cortijo Grande, through Cabrera, down the mountain and into Turre.
It’s a fair trek but enjoyable, even though we shall be dealing with someone else’s trash. Please assist, if only for half-an-hour. If everyone picks up a handful of rubbish, it will be worth it.
I know many Brits who live here, are pig sick with all the litter which is scattered here, there and everywhere… so let’s make a big effort and clean the place up.
Let me know what area you MIGHT or WILL BE covering. If not just carry on and do the best you can. So in advance, it’s a big thank you from me for your noble efforts.
I will keep you posted as to what transpires from the ‘Great Clean Up Campaign’.
