THE Mayor of Velez Malaga, Francisco Delgado, announced that the Andalucian Parliament has initiated the process for Velez to become a ‘Large Population Municipality’.
The Parliament has sent a letter to the local town hall informing them that the necessary documents which were submitted in September have now been sent to the Governing and Justice Committee for consideration.
The mayor said that all the steps for Velez to soon become a ‘Large Population Municipality’ are being taken, which is important for the future and will put it amongst the most important towns in the region.
Historical, social, financial and cultural aspects which make Velez merit this classification have to be taken into consideration.
