Man arrested for murder of Andratx woman

A 24-YEAR-OLD Spanish woman was found dead at her home in Andratx.Nuria Orol Sarabia’s body had multiple stab wounds to the chest area.

The victims’ 37-year-old Moroccan ex-boyfriend was arrested as a suspect.

In September the victim has suffered injuries, but she did not bring charges against the detainee so the case was not pursued, according to the official sources.

A previous girlfriend of the detainee reported him for physical abuse in 2007. This latest death, brings the total number of women killed by their partners, or former partners, this year in Spain to 53, which is lower than the 59 deaths recorded during the same period last year.

In the Balearic Islands, this is the second case. The first was a 74-year-old woman in Calvia who was murdered at the end of January.

This is also the sixth case in Spain reported so far this month.
