Hopes for Nerja Museum to open before end of the year

NERJA Town Hall hopes that the museum will be able to open before the end of the year. The museum was officially inaugurated at the end of March, but closed the following day because it did not have the opening and first occupation licenses.
However, the town hall has held talks with the people in charge of the Cueva de Nerja Foundation, of which the conservative Partido Popular mayor, Jose Alberto Armijo, is vice-president, and has now requested a meeting with the president of the foundation and government sub-delegate, Hilario Lopez Luna.
The former governing team in the town demanded the licenses for the project to go ahead, but failed to grant them. Another thing which remains to be done before it can open to the public is to employ staff.
However, the manager of the Cueva de Nerja, Angel Ramirez, promised it would open as soon as the licenses were granted.
