A COURT in Motril has sentenced a man to six months in prison for stealing 10 chirimoyas (custard apples) worth €15 from a farm.
The man, from Gualchos-Castell de Ferro, broke into the property in the Pueblo Nuevo area in May, having made a hole in the fence, and after taking the fruit, jumped over the fence to head to his car, where he was caught by the police.
He will have to pay the owner of the farm €15 for the fruit, plus €20 for damages.
