HOTEL occupancy levels on the Costa del Sol over the September 8 – 11 bank holiday weekend reached 90 per cent.
This represents a 30 per cent increase on the same period last year.
And Malaga City hotels enjoyed an even better weekend occupancy at 100 per cent. All of this, according to the Costa del Sol Tourism Board, has generated €30m for the province.
The President of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board, Elias Bendodo, said that September was becoming part of the high season, which would help to generate income for longer periods in the area.
He said this was thanks to the promotion of the area, as well as the climate, and the cultural events on offer. He also spoke of the effort made by different town halls in the province to improve the offer available for tourists.
