GUARDIA CIVIL in Vera arrested a 30-year-old man charged with conning 11 companies out of more than €175,000.
The investigation began when the Guardia Civil learned that a company manager based in Girona had ordered and taken goods worth more than €18,000 from a company in Cuevas del Almanzora which sells prefabricated construction items. He did not pay for the items.
The investigation revealed he had done the same in Macael, stealing €30,000, as well as in Barcelona, Caceres, Girona, Leon, Murcia, Valencia and Zaragoza.
He created a legal company and bought shares in it and then failed to pay the companies he stole from.
He is believed to have been involved in other crimes, and further arrests have not been ruled out.
