VELEZ-MALAGA Town Hall continues to take measures to put an end to street drinking along the coast of Torre del Mar.
This summer, the town hall prevented youths from gathering for the ‘botellon’ in El Copo area, which has been declared as an ‘acoustically saturated’ area, but now this caused them to move to the western end of the seafront.
The deputy mayor in Torre del Mar, Emilio Martin, said there are no plans to create an area where drinking is allowed, but instead to instill in local youths the idea that there are other ways to have fun and that damaging public areas is not permissible. The town hall has contacted youth associations to elaborate an alternative leisure programme.
