ONE of the most exclusive and luxurious cruise ships in the world will be in Motril Port today (Thursday).
The ship, ‘The World’, travels around the globe with no final destination, carrying passengers who have bought or rented one of the 165 luxury private apartments on board.
It is considered the largest ‘private yacht’ in the world and is a luxury available only to a select few, as each apartment costs between €1m and €6million, which does not include the price of the trip, maintenance and upkeep. Renting an apartment costs between €1,000 and €4,000 per night, and they are between 100m2 and 400m2, each with a lounge, three bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen.
There is at least one crew member available per passenger, four restaurants, tennis court, spa, pool, gym, library, exclusive boutiques and many other luxuries.
The average passenger is around 52 years old, and 50 per cent are from the USA, 40 per cent from Europe and the rest from Australia, Asia and South Africa.
