Local police in Pilar de Horadada save in costs

LOCAL Police of Pilar de la Horadada reduced their costs by 55 per cent this summer.

In summer 2010, €52,000 was spent, while this summer just €23,000 was spent during the months of the year when the population quadruples, especially in August.

The number of police officers has not changed, rather a restructuring of their working schedules, according to police Chief Jose Antonio Hernandez.

The various police units were allocated depending on the situation and officer’s holidays during the summer months was limited.

“The team has adapted to the new situation because they understand that the town hall cannot afford any extra expense,” Security Councillor Francisco Lancharro said.

“We must maintain a policy of austerity and a constant review of human resources.”
