GUARDIA CIVIL are tying to locate a man from Rute, Cordoba, for leaving seven dogs alone in his home for three weeks.
A local shelter called the Guardia Civil to report that several malnourished dogs had been seen on the patio of a house in Rute and that the owner had not been seen for several days.
When the officers arrived, they found the house closed, one of the dogs had died, and neighbours informed them that the owner had been gone for at least three weeks. They had been throwing bread over the wall for the dogs during this time but there was no water available for the animals.
They were unable to locate the owner of the property and his direct relatives said he could be in Malaga, but claimed they did not have his telephone number or the keys to his house because they did not speak to him.
The officers got a court order to enter the property and took the dogs to a shelter.
