Underage girls paid to dance in Madrid discos

POLICE in Madrid have smashed a network which paid underage girls to work as dancers in discos. The girls danced at under-18 nights were alcohol is not served.

Fourteen people were arrested and charged with corrupting minors. Among them were owners of well known discos, promoters and managers of events companies. However, a three-month investigation revealed that some clubs were paying €50 to at least eight girls aged 14 and 15 to dance, scantily dressed, on stage.

In other cases, they weren’t paid but allowed free entrance and drinks. Apparently they used young boys to contact the girls and offer them the work, and they in turn encouraged others to do the same.
