Work goes ahead at Torrox lighthouse

THE Councillor for Tourism, Commerce and Sport, Luciano Alonso, visited the lighthouse and Roman Villa in Torrox.

The work which will be carried out at the site, with a budget of €624,000, is part of the Costa del Sol-Axarquia Sustainable Tourism Initiative, which has included work for up to €4.3m at 18 sites, 70 per cent of which has been financed by the Junta de Andalucia.

The refurbishment of the area includes making the lighthouse dwellings into a visitors’ centre.
