Catral Custom and Classic nite

THIRTY-FIVE CUSTOM and classic cars plus bikes braved the hot weather for the second Catral Custom and Classic Car Nite.

The Meroil Garage car park in Catral was filled to breaking point by the amount of visitors cars who came to enjoy the display and to be entertained by Andy James from TKO and English band Quill, who played their entertaining style of country rock, until the late hours.

The cars on display included famous American marques as Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac and Dodge, British interest from Morgan, MG, Mini, TVR, Jaguar, JBL, Triumph and  Rolls-Royce plus a couple of VW Micro Buses, a beautiful Citroen 11, Alfa, Fiat, Triumph, Harley Davidson, bikes and various other famous names on display including Corvette, Mustangs and a Chevy Camero.

An excellent day out for visitors, although it was Hot,. Also on display was one of the stock cars from the soon to be opened Oval track at Cartagena’s race track. It’s the first of its kind in Spain and offer cheap motor racing, with all the thrills and spills of old time banger racing, for the smallest budget possible. This group of enthusiasts also held their first meeting on Sunday evening with the promise that the oval track is the least expensive form of motor racing available, offering junior categories into the mix, for the speed mad teenagers out there.

Also at the Custom and Classics Nite were organisers and members from the new Costa Blanca American Car Club for owners and just those interested, in American cars, a group that seems to be growing on a weekly biases on the Costa Blanca.
