Family arrested for ransacking houses

THREE members of one family were arrested in Granada for stealing from an apartment from which they were evicted several months ago.

Not only that, but they illegally inhabited the house next door while the owner was on holiday and stole items from this house too. The goods stolen from both houses had a combined value of around €20,000. They included furniture, and several valuable paintings.

The theft was reported by the owner of the neighbouring house when he returned to find squatters in his home, which had been “completely ransacked” and was “dirty with the walls and floor covered in excrements”. The family had been evicted from the other house for not paying the rent.

The mother and son had a criminal record for similar actions.
