AMBULANCE workers in Mallorca are scheduled to go on strike on Friday August 12, Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18. On these days there will be a partial service from 11am to 1pm and 4pm to 6pm.
If an agreement is not reached between the union UGT and the company, there “will be an indefinite strike as of Monday August 22 which will affect the whole day.”
One of the reasons for this strike is the “company’s intention to not pay workers their July wages,” said head of UGT’s medical transport, Tomeu Tugores. “We were informed that the company was experiencing economic difficulties and so would not be able to pay employees wages. They have also not been paid their obligatory summer bonus.”
