ALICANTE could be set to receive an influx of cruise passengers. Representatives of seven US cruise companies will visit Alicante from Thursday September 22 to Saturday 24 to explore the possibility of using the port and city on their cruise itineraries.
They toured the port’s facilities and explored various destinations in the city and surrounding areas to see what passengers could do on excursions. The seven companies included Royal Caribbean, Silversea, Windstar Cruises, Princess Cruises, Crystal Cruises, The World and NCL.
If they add Alicante to their itinerary this would significantly increase tourism in the area. Royal Caribbean is the largest cruise company in the Mediterranean and their ship Independence of the Seas docked for their third cruise to Alicante Port with more than 4,000 passengers.
