SIX families who are squatting in municipal properties in Torrox are demanding a solution to their problem.
The 27 people who have been in the empty houses at Colina del Sol which belong to the town hall for more than two weeks, gathered outside the town hall asking for a place to live.
The families have lost their homes and occupied the old teachers’ houses which according to the town hall are in ruins and should not be inhabited. They say they “are not criminals and just want a place to live”.
The town hall has requested a reported to prove the danger of living in the houses and has taken the case to the courts to decide whether the families will be evicted.
