Robbers armed with axes target Denia man’s home

THREE hooded men stormed a villa in the area of ​​St. Nicholas in Dénia,  threatening its one occupant with axes and sticks. The aim was to rob the safe that was inside the house.

The incident occurred between three and four in the morning in a house on Ceres Street, when the robbers, reportedly of  Eastern European origin, broke into the bungalow and woke up the man

They threatened to kill him if he didn’t co-operate, and he gave them the safe combination, losing  jewellery and some money.

Also in Dénia, the last meeting of the Local Board acting Falleras has ended in tragedy. The secretary of the organization, Vicent Oltra, was stabbed in the abdomen on his way home from, and at the time of writing remained in the intensive care unit in Denia hospital.

He was attacked as he got out of his car on arriving home at about 1.30 am. The robber demanded cash, and then stabbed Sr, Oltra in the stomach. He managed to enter his house, and his wife drove him to hospital, averting an even greater tragedy.
