Hunt for man who shot wife’s lover in Chilches, Velez-Malaga

POLICE have identified the man who allegedly shot his wife’s lover in Chilches, Velez-Malaga last week. The 46-year-old, originally from the North African enclave of Melilla, had escaped from prison in Badajoz after failing to return when he was on leave.

He is wanted for a bank robbery. The victim, a 50-year-old Argentinean man, went to Rincon de la Victoria health centre to be treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The staff called the Guardia Civil who discovered that the man had been brought there by his partner. He was later taken to Carlos Haya Hospital in Malaga, and after he was released, made a complaint to the National Police. Apparently, the victim arrived at his partner’s home and found her with another man. The two began to argue and the other man intervened, pulled out a gun and shot him.

After questioning the woman several times, the officers decided to arrest her for covering for the shooter, who they finally identified as her husband.
