Frenchman arrested for hitting officer with a broom

A FRENCHMAN was arrested in Palma for allegedly assaulting a police officer with a broom. Neighbours in the building on Calle Reina Constanza had complained that shot glasses, cigarette butts and ash were being thrown out the window of an apartment that was hosting a party.

When officers knocked on the door to the apartment the host replied in Spanish before switching to French and English in a tone which agents took to be ‘contemptuous’.

Officers ordered him to clean up the mess he had made, but apparently he used the broom to hit an officer instead.
