A CHILD prostitution network has been dismantled in Vega Baja. Six of the group’s members – both men and women – and four clients were arrested. They have been sent to prison without bail. The clients were three Spaniards and a Norwegian.
All suspects have been charged with the crime of corrupting minors and three of them were also accused of drug trafficking because they supposedly provided cocaine to the girls.
Two Brazilian girls were rescued, although the number of victims is thought to be much more. They have all been charged with corrupting and prostituting minors and extortion and three of them also with drug trafficking. They allegedly obtained their clients through a strip club in Torrevieja and offer them the opportunity to sleep with underage girls for a higher price.
Clients would pay between €150 to €300 for the minor to be taken to their home and the same again for the sexual services.
A few days later one of the group’s members would show up at the client’s house to blackmail them, extorting around €600 in exchange for their silence. The victim’s were underage Brazilian girls from poor families who they then allegedly hooked on cocaine. Eight bags of cocaine were seized.
