‘Muggers’ arrested as youths left-half naked

THREE men aged 18 were arrested in Alhaurin de la Torre for robbing two youths of everything they had on them, including most of their clothing.

Local Police received a call from a local resident who said he had seen a person, naked from the waste up, being thrown from a car on the A-404 near the limit with Malaga city. When they arrived, the police found a yellow car taking up most of the road, which they intercepted.

They saw two men running to the car and another in the driver’s seat. When questioned, each one contradicted the other, so the police called in the Guardia Civil. While they were waiting, one of them asked if he could go to look for his belt. It was then that the police found the two half-naked youths hidden behind some bushes who told them that the other three had stolen their clothes, chains, silver bracelets, money and caps, threatening to strangle them with a belt or beat them with rocks if they told anyone.

The two had missed the bus back to Alhaurin de la Torre and decided to walk. On the way, they allegedly saw the occupants of the yellow car attempting to steal from an elderly man walking along the side of the road. They claim that when the three men saw them, they left him and came after them.

The Guardia Civil searched the vehicle and found two large rocks and the stolen objects. They admitted to the robbery and were arrested.
