The darker side of San Juan

THE San Juan celebrations recently was an excuse for some fun for most people, but others vandalized property. All along the coast, beachgoers found tonnes of rubbish on the following morning.

Meanwhile, residents in the Pedregalejo district of Malaga found at least three cars with broken windscreens and dented bodywork, others found items had been stolen from inside the vehicles. They suspect vagrants who live in the old campsite near the Baños del Carmen, who they want moved.

In other areas, residents found benches, bins and other public fixtures wrecked and damages to homes near the beach. In Malaga city alone, almost 7,500 kilos of rubbish was collected, an improvement on 2010.
