The brightest bird in the world The grey parrot has recently been research and researchers have said that they have the same intelligence as a four year old child. They are known for there classical party trick of mimicking human speech, but underneath the features are other hidden talents.

An African grey parrot was said to have the ability of working out were his food was hidden using deduction and elimination skills.These skills were only identified previously in humans and apes.

Several experiments were carried out on seven different African Greys which were kept in a rescue centre in Austria. The experiment was with two opaque cups; under each cup were pieces of food, then when one piece of food was removed from under the cup the parrot had to identify which food item had been taken out and which one must have the remaining reward.

Now the parrot can join in the selection of animals with reasonable amount of animal intelligence.
