Football fan attacks busload of fans in Elche.

A MAN was arrested and nine received medical attention in Elche after a fight broke out at a football match between Elche and Granada. The fight began before the match even started with an Elche fan throwing several stones and flares at a coach which had arrived from Granada.

When arrested the detainee did not give any resistance. He has been set free pending possible sanctions.

One of his ‘victims’ had to be taken to hospital due to the threat of a heart attack caused by the stress and another was treated for a head wound. The rest of the people were injured after they fell due to the crush of fans caused by the intervention or police on horseback as they tried to expand the security perimeter around the coach.
