Following his success in the local elections, PSOE leader Jose Chulvi was sworn in as the new Mayor of Javea town last Saturday. In front of an overflowing council chamber, he thanked his winning team and supporters and asked that all parties put aside their personal grudges and political beliefs to work for the good of the community.
His personal pledge was to listen to the people and govern with total transparency. “I ask the citizens of Javea regardless of nationality, what will you do for your town and what do you expect from us? I don’t expect them to break ties with their homelands, but I do ask them that to tie up at the Javea moorings.”
Deputy Mayor and XD party coalition leader Oscar Anton fully endorsed the mayor’s commitment to open government and international integration.
