Father jailed for sexually abusing his daughter

A MAN was sentenced by the Murcia Provincial Court to three-years and four months in jail for sexually abusing his daughter from the age of four. The abuse began in 2003 “when the accused used his daughter to satisfy his sexual desires, preying on her inability to resist not only because of her age, but because of his authority as a father figure,” stated the ruling.

After the marriage broke up, the abuse continued during the times that he had visitation rights. The abuse was uncovered by the girl’s mother when she told her that she did not want to go see her father because he “slept” with her and “touched” her.

In addition to imprisonment he must also pay a €60,000 compensation for moral damages caused and a he has been banned from coming within 500 meters of his daughter for five years after he is released.
