MALLORCA, Menorca and Ibiza are the most popular destinations for Spanish travellers this Summer. The demand from English tourists has also increased, according to on-line travel agency lowcostholidays.com.
German tourists prefer the Balearic Islands over other destinations in Spain and other countries. This follows last week’s EWN report of a 10 per cent increase in German tourists in Playa de Palma.
The Spanish prefer the Balearics due to increase in aparthotels, tourist apartments and all inclusive hotel deals, according to Miguel Angel, the director of lowcostholidays.com The Canary Islands are the second preferred destination for the Spanish public who are seeking cheaper holiday alternatives during the economic crisis rather than give up their holidays completely.
