AN investigation into the death of an 18-year-old man found in the centre of Nerja last Sunday morning has ruled out manslaughter. The young man from Competa apparently used one of the garments he had been wearing on Saturday night to take his own life by tying it around his neck, just hours after he dropped his girlfriend off at her home.
His body was found in Plaza de las Monjas by a passer-by who was drunk at the time and who approached a taxi rank and asked one of the drivers to alert the authorities at approximately 5am.
It appears that he had argued with his girlfriend and been involved in a fight over a traffic accident earlier that morning.
The previous week a fight had broken out in the same area in which a British man was injured.
