School Olympics
THERE is a free bus service from El Murtal and La Cala schools at 8am to the Guillermo Amor Municipal Sports Centre in Benidorm tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday for the first phase of the 29th ‘School Olympics’. The bus returns at 1.30pm. The second phase will take place on Friday June 17.
Road re-opened
THE asphalting works on Calle Colon in Villajoyosa should finish tomorrow (Friday) and the road reopened to traffic.
Benisub photos
FIRST prize of the Benisub photography competition in Benidorm was won by Felix Aguado.
New nursery
WORK on the municipal nursery located in the Garganes/Basseta Industrial Park in Altea for children aged zero to three will be completed this year, according to Mayor Andres Ripoll.
New roundabout
THE construction of the new roundabout at the intersection of Barranquet and Avenida Varadero in Villajoyosa will be carried out in two phases and take about 14 months to complete.
Artist’s exhibition
THERE is an exhibition of paintings, sculptures and photographs of students who participated in the Esplai d’Art course at Benidorm Town Hall until tomorrow (Friday).
Retaining wall
THE retaining wall on Calle Tella in Altea now allows heavy vehicles to pass by without affecting the municipal Sports Centre, has a ramp for people with disabilities and cost €337,000 to build.
Summer sports
THERE are a variety of new courses available in Benidorm’s municipal summer sports schedule between July 27 and August 19 including special activities for children and numerous beach sport activities.
