A MALAGA doctor is one of three arrested for carrying out implants with products banned in Spain purchased on the internet, National Police said. They were used to treat alcohol and drug addiction on more than 200 patients.
The products were allegedly imported from the USA, China and Russia with no quality, efficiency or safety controls by a woman with no license or medical training.
A search an Almeria home resulted in medicines, computer equipment, documents and €1,630 in cash being seized.
The other doctors were arrested in Madrid, and Asturias. They had requested authorization to import the substances but it had been denied by the Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios (Spanish Agency of Medicine and Health Products).
