Disabled woman records husband’s abuse on computer

A COURT in Vigo is investigating the alleged abuse of a disabled woman at the hands of her husband. The woman suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which has left her unable to move and she can only communicate with her sight thanks to a computer.

She was chatting to a contact in Sevilla via the internet and, having already spoken to him about her problems with her husband, said she was afraid because her carers were not around at the time.

Later the same day, she suddenly ceased communicating with her friend because her husband, who no longer lives with her, had entered the house.

Her friend alerted the Local Police in Vigo who sent a patrol round to check she was OK.

Her husband opened the door to the officers, who asked to speak with the woman. It was then she was able to show them audio and video files which she had kept encrypted on her computer hard drive which showed her husband insulting her.

The police then reported the man for alleged abuse and proceedings were started to issue a restraining order against the husband.
