TEN Russian and Ukrainian tour operators visited the three provinces in Valencia Region to discover all that the region has to offer. Benidorm, Calpe, Altea, Javea and Denia were the municipalities explored in Costa Blanca North. Other towns included Gandía, Cullera, Utiel-Requena, Peñíscola, Oropesa, La Vall d’Uixó, Canet d’en Berenguer and Valencia.
In 2010, more than 5 million foreign tourists visited the Valencian Region, of which more than 36,000 where from Russia. This represents 0.7 per cent of foreign demand and reflects a strong growth of more than three times that of 2009.
Russia is currently the eleventh source market for the autonomous region.
Russian tourists usually stay an average of 3.4 days, stay in top hotels and prefer the Alicante Province.
