Candidate to legalize prostitution

PROSTITUTION could be legalized in Mallorca. This is if the candidate of the central democratic citizens party CCD, Maria Jose Rodriguez, has her way. She believes that this is necessary so that they can receive social benefits, health and education. “We can no longer turn a deaf ear and look the other way,” she said.

“Most of these women are forced to work for pimps who lured them here with false promises.”

“Their physical and personal dignity is being exploited,” she added.

“We must legalize the profession and give it decent working conditions, social and health measures,” asserted Rodriguez.

By legalizing prostitution these women could work “voluntarily and of their own accord.”
