Cortijo Las Piezas at Los Castaños

Advertising Feature – IF you are looking for somewhere really special for lunch you need to try Cortijo Las Piezas at Los Castaños. Their Sunday lunch is amazing and tremendous value for money we went there and were surprised at what was on offer.

We were warmly greeted on arrival and offered a free glass of Cava and a selection of home made canapés, the asparagus and blue cheese rolls were yummy and with a choice of three homemade starters, three main courses and three desserts, which are all homemade it was difficult to choose as everything was so nice.

The service was excellent. It’s no wonder it’s not always possible to get a table, but it may be that the free bottle of wine, free coffee and water and also the all inclusive price of €12.95 is a big incentive.

And so to Wednesdays… Because of the demand for the Sunday lunch, they have now started serving midweek lunches. These are served between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Wednesdays at €9.95 per person which includes 3-course lunch and a glass of wine with your meal. Once again you have to reserve a table. Last week’s Wednesday menu included a choice of three starters followed by a choice of beef in red wine, luxury fish pie, lasagne with homemade Cajun style wedges, and followed by treacle tart, bread and butter pudding and rhubarb and pear crumble – all delicious and homemade.

We had a lovely relaxing lunch in beautiful surroundings and everything was perfect. needless to say we have booked in for next week to sample the Beef and Guinness pie. When the weather is suitable it’s possible to book a table on the terrace which is fly and mosquito screened so providing an outside environment without the bothersome insects. When we’ve been there we noticed that this is a good place for groups of people who are celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and it seems very popular with dining clubs and ladies that lunch.

For quality of food, service, value for money and ambience this place really is hard to beat.

The owners Tracy and Robert are really passionate about their food and enjoy welcoming people to their establishment.

Which is why you will see the same people there time after time.
