Bare beach in focus

THE Mayor of Vera visited Vera Playa together with officials from the junta, concerned with the protection of the coast. This comes just weeks after the MSN travel site listed Vera Playa as the best clothes-free beach in the world.

They met with local property and business owners to discuss the continued erosion of the playa from the new sea defence groyne at Hotel Vera Playa Club along the beach towards Puerto Ray.

The officials spoke about the long term sea defence and beach erosion plans and listened to the local business owner’s concerns about the poor state of the beach and the impact that it is having on trade.
