CLEANERS at Malaga Airport have announced a strike for today (Thursday) and tomorrow. The reason for the strike is to complain cleaners are overworked and that negotiations to change their work conditions have not prospered, according to union Comisiones Obreras in Malaga.
Some 150 workers are affected, and their main complaint is that more staff are not employed during high seasons such as Easter or summer, meaning that there is more work for the same number of people.
They also say that the number of cleaners remains the same as before the new terminal was opened last year, despite the fact that the area of the airport has more than doubled.
