THE deputy director for Air Berlin in Spain and Portugal, Pablo Caspers, says that the situation in Tunisia and Egypt is a “good opportunity” for tourism in Spain. Caspers said Spain’s tourist destinations should not compete by lowering their prices but should instead attempt to connect with the clients, as it is impossible to compete with the prices some package tours offered in Tunisia or Egypt.
Air Berlin will operate 56 weekly flights from Malaga Airport this summer, of which 14 are to Palma de Mallorca, and the rest are to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. They will be offering 600,000 seats.
The Costa del Sol Tourism Board is also expecting an influx of German tourists this summer, as more than 90,000 have come to Malaga between January and March.
