The Marbella Masters will arrive at Hotel Puente Romano August 25 -27

SPRING is just at our doorsteps yet tennis fans are already planning for summer when Hotel Puente Romano will welcome the Marbella Masters tournament for the second consecutive year from August 25 – 27, 2011. Guests of Hotel Puente Romano and its lovely sister property, Marbella Club Hotel·Golf Resort & Spa will receive preferential entrance to the tournament as part of the Marbella Masters tennis experience.

The Tennis Club is particularly excited to welcome eleven time grand slam title winner and unrivalled tennis legend, Bjorn Borg to the tournament roster. Bjorn is very familiar with the clay courts of Hotel Puente Romano as he managed the club after it first opened in 1979. Talking ahead of the tournament in August, Bjorn said: “I am really looking forward to returning to Puente Romano Tennis Club where l have many friends and great memories.”

Such tennis stars as Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Pat Cash and Masour Bahrami have already singed on and the association is in negotiations with other major players.  Tournament Director, Anders Borg commented; “We are delighted that Bjorn will join us this year, the centre court at the tennis club is spectacular and should be used to showcase one of the world’s best ever players.

As a member of the ATP, the club has played host to prestigious international tournaments over the years including the Davis Cup and the WTA. Today, the club still attracts the world’s greatest tennis players and fans.
