A 30-YEAR-OLD Bolivian woman was arrested in Granada accused of stealing a two-month-old baby from a compatriot. The National Police reported that the baby, called Alexander, was found within 24 hours. The detainee intended to rent a room to the baby’s parents and invited them to her home, telling the mother that her baby son was in hospital.
The two women then went to a café, where the baby’s mother felt ill, possibly due to the juice the detainee had given her before, and left the baby with the other woman.
When she returned, the woman and her son had disappeared, although the woman was arrested nearby.
