SAMSUNG announced not one, but two tablets during their CTIA event; the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Both run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb with TouchWiz 4.0 user interface, feature a 1GHz dual-core CPU and are thinner than the iPad2. They boast a 3-megapixel auto-focus primary camera with 720p video recording, and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras.
Flash Player 10.2 and Quickoffice HD editor comes preinstalled. The first model has an 8.9-inch screen with WXGA resolution, a 6000mAh battery, measures only 230.9×157.8×8.6mm and weighs just 470g.
Its big brother, the 10.1 measures 256.6×172.9×8.6mm, uses a PLS display – which is said offers even better image quality than IPS displays – and has a 6800mAh battery.
Both are set to launch this summer.
