NATIONAL POLICE in Ecija, Sevilla, arrested 12 people who were allegedly helping others to obtain their driving license fraudulently in exchange for money. The investigation began after police discovered that one driving school in the area was presenting paperwork to attend written driving exams for people from all over Andalucia.
This attracted people who could not read or write, and provided them with a transmitter-receiver which vibrated a certain number of times, indicating which answer they should give.
Another person, who failed the exam on purpose so he could take it again, was in the same room, providing them with the answers. He had been ‘failing’ since March 2010.
Ten of the people arrested had paid for the chance to pass the exam, and the other two were in charge of the driving school.
Further arrests have not been ruled out.
