THE Euro Weekly News(EWN) and English Radio Mallorca are supporting the charity Mediterranea with its project “Dignipack”. The idea is to provide people living on the streets here in Mallorca with the items needed for basic hygiene. The packs will be delivered monthly to the homeless at the places where Mediterranea already provide food.
There are two versions of the pack, one for men and one for women. The female pack costs approximately €11 and consists of deodorant, socks, sanitary towels, wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, knickers, shampoo, shower gel, moisturiser, and a hairbrush. For the men it is deodorant, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, comb, disposable razors and costs around €8.
EWN is appealing for help from its readers either as individuals or to get together as a school, group or association to create complete packs, or collecting individual items like pairs of socks.
Readers can drop off supplies at Planet Space in Son Bugadelles or Son Castello, at Extra Space in Palma or at Dr Stoma’s surgery in Portals Nous.
Look out for reports in the Euro Weekly News and listen to English Radio Mallorca on 92.9FM or online at www.englishradiomallorca.com every Saturday and Sunday morning to follow the progress of how many DIGNIPACKS have been collected and delivered.
