MORE than 1,000 La Nucia residents attended the ceremony in which Mayor Bernabe Cano and Regional President Joaquin Ripoll laid the first stone of the l’Alberca eco-park. When finished, the eco-park will be able to recycle 30 different types of waste. In addition to the recycling plant, there will be an education area, exhibition hall and a nature leisure park.
The entire enclosure will be made entirely from materials that ‘promote a culture of recycling.’
Its construction reportedly cost €690,000, of which 65 per cent will be financed by the Alicante Provincial Government.
The eco-park will be built on an area of 20,000 square meters located in the industrial estate at the entrance of the town centre.
16,000 meters will be devoted to a nature leisure park, with areas for the disabled, a large barbecue area, public toilets, reception area and bar.
