Man waits for 30kg tumour to be removed from his testes

AN Alicante man who has a giant tumour in his testes has been told by doctors to lose weight before ne can have an operation. Daniel Enrique Morales, aged 49, weighs around 200 kilograms, and has been on a waiting list for a year to have a 30 kilo tumour removed. Morales was told by the health authorities he will not be operated on until he reaches 80 kilos, according to Diario Informacion.

Morales spends 20 hours a day on his sofa because of his affliction.

In January 2009, after years on a waiting list to be operated on for his obesity (he weighed more than 200 kilos) doctors discovered a 50 kilo tumour in his stomach which was removed by three surgeons at San Joan Hospital in Alicante.

But despite the success of that operation, his testes began to swell until it developed into a tumour which now needs to be removed.

“They told me the swelling was due to liquid in the stomach and that it would disappear,” he told levante-emv.com.

“They promised if it did not go away they would operate me immediately,” he added.
