Iranian couple arrested for mugging man, 90

TWO Iranians were arrested in Granada, for tricking and attacking a 90-year-old man. A man, aged 29, and a woman, aged 45, got out of a car and approached the elderly man, then asked him to show them what a €50 note looked like, claiming that they were foreigners and did not want to be tricked.

When the man produced the note, they pushed him to the floor, stole the money and fled by car. The victim was helped by witnesses and taken to a local health centre as he suffered an anxiety attack.

Thanks to witness descriptions, the Guardia Civil located the car in a nearby town and the two suspects were arrested. The man had an arrest warrant against him and he was using a false Italian residents’ card.
