MANACOR police have arrested a Moroccan man on charges of sexual assault after he allegedly tried to attack the same woman twice. The first attack took place last December. The victim was walking along a country road when she was approached by the attacker and forced to perform sexual acts. The attacker was interrupted by an oncoming car, and fled the scene.
An investigation was launched to find the attacker, but it was not until last week that he was caught. The man was arrested after attempting to assault the same woman who recognised him and used her rape alarm. A bystander came to her aid.
It was proving difficult for police to find the Moroccan man who has no previous criminal record, however he has now been charged at the Magistrate’s Court in Manacor.
