Man stabs himself in demonstration of love

A MAN stabbed himself on Monday in Torrevieja to try to stop his 18-year old wife from leaving him with their child when he came home late after he had partied all night. One of the man’s relatives called the emergency services. The 22-year old Columbian had stab wounds to his arm and back and had to get four stitches before returning home.

Initially the young man told Local Police and Guardia Civil that he had been attacked by somebody who tried to mug him and that he had resisted.

However, officers found no traces of blood in the street or on the stairs; just inside the house on the first floor.

The couple are no longer together.
